6 years US Army with Honorable Discharge....my 1st hand experience= Not saying this to be insulting but females who were more boyish/ manly in nature= no problem as some could have kicked many of our asses lol....Attractive females= No problem....HOWEVER anyone else out of the lines in example weirdos, psychos, fem gay guys etc the crowd went after especially in training days that Drill Sergeants did not want to see proceed....or the recruits just did not like.
I hear people relating this trans issue to when other groups, females etc were allowed in....sorry just not the same issue as across the board a brotha from brooklyn & a farm boy from Nebraska may possibly have the same view of a fem talking guy carrying himself sweetly...or a guy wearing a dress etc.
The crowd I was around would not tolerate and the end result was always bad- it will open up a bad bowl of soup....the media can put out all of the positive pro spin yapping they want but it is not common sense as to what is on ground level....bottom line this President is correct.
