Thought about taking a road trip

So mostly, when I go to other places, it's always someone else driving. Usually it's with my brother or a coworker. Back in 2017 for the first time I was in my car, alone, drove 3 1/2 hours down to Ocean City MD. The only thing different was that it was just me in the car, and everything went well. My back hurt from sitting for that long, but I stopped like half way down to get food and gas.

I dunno, I just keep getting this feeling to get in my car one day and just drive west, maybe southwest I don't really know. I wonder if that's because I'm getting older and want to do things other than sit at home all day? I just need to have a decent car to get me around is all.

I used to enjoy driving all over this (little) country of ours, often on my own. Sadly these days I haven't got the concentration and worry about the amount of traffic we have. So now it's always public transport: trains usually, buses, coaches and when desperate, taxis. I'm told by friends who been to the US that the driving experience there is completely different. I think that's going to be one of life's experiences which I will never have now. My advice is grab what opportunities you can while you can.

Sounds like a nice dream...but if you decide to do it, plan it carefully. Travelling can be expensive!
