If you could drop everything, sell everything you own and move somewhere, anywhere, where would you go?

Anywhere in the world

For me probably some place that still tribal type living, a place with very limited government.

Maybe some place in South America. No cellphones, No internet, Just living life like it's the 1900s again

An awesome camper van or skoolie. I want to travel the US National and many of the State Parks. I also want to spend a month on the Emerald Isle to just mossy along and explore.

What would you do for an income
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@HumanEarth
I've been considering a few options but it's all just a dream. For now at least😊
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SlaveEt Which would be your preference, skoolie or van?
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@Musicman
Skoolie but not a full size bus. I've been eyeing the short 5-6 window van types. But really love the durability and extra space in the mid-size 7 window busses.
Are you familiar with vans or skoolies?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SlaveEt Both actually. I watch videos on YouTube. I have seen build out and travel videos. Would you prefer to do your own build out or buy one already done?
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@Musicman
I'd like to try doing it myself but if I had the money it would be a whole lot easier to just buy one
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SlaveEt I completely agree with the buying one already done part. Do you have any construction skills? Tools? A place to park and work on the bus?
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@Musicman
Very limited skills, very limited tools and no place to park or work.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SlaveEt Ouch! Skills can be learned on YouTube and honed by actually doing the work. Tools and materials can be purchased. Storage and a work area can be rented. How about money? Can you handle a project like this?
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@Musicman
Lol I know right?! Oh well. Besides, I am a busy, full time caregiver anyway. As much as I'd love to toodle around the US in an old bus, it's just not in the cards right now.🤷‍♀️
Are you in or planning to join van lifers or the skoolie crowd?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SlaveEt I am full time caregiver to my wife. We have a motorhome and between all her doctoring and physical therapy appointments we manage to get out for a few days here and there. We haven't been able to really take a couple of months and travel though for the past two years now. I use to really enjoy hitting the road for a couple of months. 🙂
HumanEarth · F
@Musicman I know that feeling, I slowly moving into that position with my wife.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@HumanEarth I will add you to my prayer list 🙏🙏🙏
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@Musicman
I understand. It is honest, fulfilling work though trying and exhausting at times. It's worth it though. Now if only we could get paid like all the other workin' stiffs! Lol
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SlaveEt Lol!!! To true! To true! With the economy I would like to go back to work, but with taking care of my wife I just can't.
