I think it is essential for humans to engage activities that aren't self-interest driven. Spending so much time only thinking about your own suffering

And your own loss not just adds to the suffering of others but to yours too.

Maybe the problem isn't your depression or any other mental conditions.

Maybe the problem is that your world stops there. It didn't expand to other aspects, other dimensions..You are your entire world. Maybe you don't need to figure out yourself, you need to over-grow its comforts..its ego.

I do think we are nomads. We all are not just me because I am half Touareg. We are nomads since the very beginning. We need to flow and move and experience the world in many ways. We weren't supposed to stay stuck in one place, metaphorically and literally, feeding on its resources until it becomes a desert. We have to move from ourselves.

Interesting thought. Sometimes I wish it was that way.

I wasn’t disagreeing with you, but life teaches focus and specialization: if you’re everywhere, you’re nowhere. I can show empathy and donate to good causes, but it isn’t realistic to think I can solve the world’s problems. I can play my part as a responsible citizen of the Earth.

We forget that this blue dot, the planet earth is our only home. Yet we fight. We invented currency and question its value, and divide ourselves with territories, countries, and borders. We can’t roam freely as nomads once did, though birds, rivers, and the winds still can.

Those are one of the things life teaches us, not everything.

And you don't even need to leave the borders to experience new place. YOU LIVE IN INDIA. I have been there. It is so diverse. It is like an entire continent in one country and there is no shortage of beauty. You need a life time to explore it all ...

And even if you yearned to cross the borders, there are so many legal ways to travel and many people do it with low budgets.. walking out of your comfort zone isn't about easily and comfort... you are letting go of those concepts and seeking the difficult..the uncertain.

We can still roam freely..and like I said, not just literally. You are missing the meaning of much of my post especially the first part. It is not about your own life.

@Miram I DON'T LIVE IN INDIA. I don't know who told you that.
I was talking about humans in general. Not about me. I already travel in and outside the US, like to Europe and Canada and many other countries for business and pleasure.
🙂

In my teens I was drawn to doing service to others like socially and living for others and doing activities that aren't self interest driven. You know like squandering valuable time and wealth and all that. It was good. I enjoyed it and learnt to be compassionate. Later, perhaps my parents and life experiences have influenced me. After my Dad passed away, my responsibilities have increased immensely. I got too much on my plate already. 🙂

Goodnight!
