If you had a week away from work, family, friends etc and could be in solitude, where would you go and what would you do with that time?

A beach, nap, play on my phone, nap some more. Smoke some pot, take a long bath, binge some TV. I can keep myself company quite well.

@Starcrossed So can I. 🙂
I’m retired, and mostly in solitude. I’m trying to get back into the habit of spending time with people because during the pandemic I’d pretty much stopped.

@bijouxbroussard Having just lost my second partner, I'm n the same boat. PM me if you would like to have lunch some time. Couple of old Oaklanders could kick around the good ol' days.

@bijouxbroussard I'm honestly feeling jealous; I have the same needs but nowhere near the personality.

Well, back in the day as they would say, probably would have been on a beach somewhere, basking in the nude, reading. Been away from work for over 20 years now, good portion of family and friends have died, living alone so lots of solitude and alone time. So more likely to try to find a new culture to experience, but there probably would still be a beach.

I would go to the cabin…go fishing…go hiking in the mountains…read Silence: The Power of Quiet in a World Full of Noise again…journal my experiences and thoughts…and write a letter to each of my two kids.
I would do the Vipassana yoga program which requires ten days with no outside contact. There is a center about an hour’s drive from here.

I’d spend it walking and thinking in the mountains.

It depends. Is it paid vacation?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Queendragonfly Sure. So where are you going and what are you doing?

I would rent a cabin in the woods and mediate, journal, yoga, walk, make delicious food, read, knit, pray .. .. .. connect with a higher being.

I would probably go to the Villages in Wildwood. That is like Disney World for adults. Then I would enjoy my week. 🙂
A lodge in a forest.
