Need packing advice for upcoming overseas trip

I am going on a cruise of the UK at the end of May. For when we are on the water I am packing warmer clothing (1/4 zip pullovers, sports coat). For walking around during the day in Belfast, Inverness, Dublin, Liverpool, Dover, etc… should I plan on short sleeves or shorts or bring a jumper or light rain jacket? Any suggestions from the locals would be appreciated. Thanks

It looks like you will be passing through quite a range of micro-climates, so come prepared for all eventualities (you will definitely need a pullover for Belfast and Inverness, but should be able to wear shorts on the south coast). Locations on the west side of the UK tend to be wettest and you will need good rain gear.

And pay no attention to the rude remarks about Liverpool . . it's well worth a visit 🙂

@SunshineGirl thanks that is helpful.

I come from an area that if I go 5/10 miles one direction can easily be very rough. I am not shy about areas that may have a little local flavor.

Anything in particular you would recommend in Liverpool/Manchester?

@IsitevenMe In Liverpool, the Three Graces . . and anything to do with the city's maritime history or The Beatles. In Manchester there are some amazing Victorian era pubs that were built like palaces.

Hope you have a good trip.

@SunshineGirl oh, the Victorian pub sounds right up my alley! Are there any particular famous ones you would recommend or will google be best to find some? Thanks again. I know we have one tour but then think we have some free time.
