I wonder if I’m just destined to be the one who loves, without the luxury of having that love returned in the same way. Perhaps that’s my role.. to be the giver, the supporter, the one who loves with no expectation. It’s a bittersweet thought, but it’s mine to carry.

I am like you but after nearly 60 years (Sixty years come May 11th, 2025) I quit giving to those that do not return my love and affections. I now give to myself and keep single, because I want to have what I offered returned to me instead of being used and take for granted ever again.
