I sent a letter to the editor

I have returned from two weeks touring the southwest of our state. From Pemberton to Dryandra woodlands.
What stood out the most was the amount of tailgating and speeding.
On the way to Dryandra, narrow roads, 100km speed limit, no passing bays on the Pinjarra -- Williams road, too many drivers were tailgating me because I was doing the speed limit.
Many times I would pull off the road to take a photograph. Cars would go past, at or above the speed limit, with a tailgater within three or four car lengths.
The tailgaters show a level of arrogance which says, rules do not concern me, I will do as I like and the rest of you can get out of my way.
With all the roadworks occurring down south, will this lead to more people speeding and thus a rise in the road toll?

Probably increase the gas taxes. That's what they did here.

The speeders actually pay more because the higher speeds use more gas.
