Ok, but why did she make a 3 minute video showcasing how a hot water bottle works? 😅

@NerdyPotato I think because these are a little different, and people want to know how it works or is used differently than the other hot water bottles we're used to... (myself included, lol)

also you gotta be careful because you can get burned if you touch it with bare hands....
@Fishy what's different about it? Other than hot water bottles I've seen being cilindrical, they work exactly the same. 🤷 And of course you need to be careful for burns when touching a metal container full of boiling liquid 🤦

@NerdyPotato Nothing much is really different, but humans are curious and timid about anything slightly different... so we investigate (or at least I do, lol)

and/or we get excited about stuff and like to show others everything about it
Fishy · 36-40, F
@NerdyPotato they also stay hotter for a LOT longer, so people probably wonder how...(granted, the video doesn't really explain that tho, lol)

@NerdyPotato

Nonsense.
You don't need to be careful.
You can fully burn yourself.
It's just not a bright idea.
Fishy · 36-40, F
@basilfawlty89 @NerdyPotato Yeah, most people know it's hot so you have to be careful,
but its more or less looking at how others handle it, like, how to tighten the plug without touching it etc

and what type of hot water bottle covers you can use for it since it gets hotter than the regular hot water bottles

and because some things might seem inconvenient about setting it up, there might be easier ways to do it

they're also pretty expensive, so people are inclined to look at these things before purchasing.
They wanna see how it's different and how it's similar to the regular hot water bottles etc

@Fishy back in my day we didn't have mo fancy water bottles. We burned out mouths straight from the kettle. And we liked it that way.

@basilfawlty89

He's right, you know ☝

@Fishy lol I know that scene so well. Grew up with Bean. Check the part where's actually at the dentist.
@Fishy I still don't understand why that's so different than one of these to make someone think "we definitely need a whole new tutorial on the flat model" 😅

Fishy · 36-40, F
@NerdyPotato Tbh, I never seen one of those... so I would probably look it up to get more info on it lol.

Hot water bottles made out of metal is a completely new concept to me

(it looks like a fire extinguisher 👀)

The ones we have here are made of rubber or PVC,
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Fishy okay, now I am laughing because I think there's confusion in nomenclature. What you posted is a hot water bottle. What he posted is a thermos.
@basilfawlty89 no, no, a thermos is used to keep drinks hot. This is a bottle to gradually give off heat from boiling water to warm your body. That last photo shows hot water sacks instead of bottles.
Fishy · 36-40, F
@NerdyPotato You can also touch thermos on the outside with your bare hands because it's insulated
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@NerdyPotato wait tf. I'm lost.
We have what she has. Shove that artillery shell you posted in your back and it'll be worse than mine.
@Fishy yep, that too. But I can see how a hot water bottle requires slightly different handling than a hot water sack indeed.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@NerdyPotato you mean the depleted shell the Germans left there 80 yeare ago that you posted?
Fishy · 36-40, F
@NerdyPotato
hot water sack
😂

Yeah, never heard that term before
@Fishy now you have, so you can finally stop mislabeling it as a bottle when it clearly isn't. You're welcome
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@NerdyPotato no.
We'll be wrong if we want to be!
@basilfawlty89 the American influence is spreading all over the world 😭
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@NerdyPotato *sips Coca Cola in a Wonder Bra* it's not!
