Woman finds (possibly) world's oldest message in a bottle

I always thought it would be great to find a message in a bottle washed up on the beach.
A woman found one on the Jersey Shore that may date to 1876, Inside was a note about a yacht and and an ad.


Seems a little odd to put something like this in a corked bottle and toss it in the sea, but somehow it's still a really cool find. Seems amazing this thing was just floating around out there for almost 150 years.
