Have you been to abandoned places? Where?

They look so amazing
Top | New | Old
Not anymore, but as kids - yes. Old office buildings, factories, warehouses, junk yards/rail yards.
Back then, it was the adventure of hidden worlds. Risk was thrilling.

Yes, I absolutely love exploring abandoned places. Luckily, I live in a state that has a lot of ghost towns

I did. I went to this abandoned hospital (which is a touring spot) for a tour 🥹 never wanna do it again.
CaptainBard · 36-40, M
I never went inside one but there are plenty around to look at here. There are some that look cool
CaptainBard · 36-40, M

@CaptainBard yes imagine getting stuck there 😅
CaptainBard · 36-40, M

I have visited several abandoned ghost towns, and I love walking around them trying to envision how they worked in their Hay Day. These were in New River WV, USA.

@WillaKissing so awesome
WillaKissing · 61-69, M
@Lovebird Thank you!
Several "ghost towns" in S. Dakota...Colorado and Wyoming.
@Lovebird Be cool to use a metal detector there and see what you find.
@Lovebird Gold coins? Bullets? Gold dust in the dirt?

@anythingoes477 I imagine anyone you find there is dangerous, no matter how nice they seem.

Yes, inside my heart.

Lots of castles in the UK, a jail, a school, a church, a hospital, old graveyards that appear abandoned
swirlie · 31-35, F
Southern Ontario, Canada has more abandoned towns which are called 'ghost towns' which were left over from a huge oil boom in the 1800's than every ghost town every recorded in the USA.

Every summer I make a special point of visiting and charting each ghost town I explore which is only about a 3 hour drive from where I live.

@swirlie Not Oil silly, it was Gold.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
I've been looking at stuff on Facebook about Saskatchewan. Seems like the whole province is abandoned. A desolate beauty.
@hunkalove oooh
Twenteen · F
@hunkalove It's flat, and cold, and when it isn't cold it is buggy, and still flat.. and then it gets cold and flat again.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
@Twenteen It sure looks flat. I grew up in Illinois, which is flat and ugly, but now I live in Colorado, which is beautiful bit expensive.
taneegoan · 31-35, F
yes a lot time in my life in recent time I was in a nomadic village in Himachal Pradesh , it's amazing to feel that silence and imagine the past life there
