This is what helps me.
I decide on a particular person with whom I have had a heartwarming interaction or a particular activity that I find calming and peaceful.
And I focus on that person or activity, imagining what a future conversation would be like, or recalling memories from the past, and use those thoughts to carry me into sleep.

I love that idea, it feels really calming. Do you usually imagine the same person/activity, or do you switch it up depending on the night?
