I have a perfectly good bed, I pay for it, I make it look cute, and somehow it’s a no sleep zone.

I lie in thete or hours, eyes wide open, thinking about taxes, my life choices, and if my fridge misses me. But the moment I plop down on the couch? Boom! Instant nap, I snore like a chainsaw.

I swear the couch is judging my life choices while my bed just sighs like, "really? You thought I’d help?" 😒

This is what helps me.

I decide on a particular person with whom I have had a heartwarming interaction or a particular activity that I find calming and peaceful.

And I focus on that person or activity, imagining what a future conversation would be like, or recalling memories from the past, and use those thoughts to carry me into sleep.

I love that idea, it feels really calming. Do you usually imagine the same person/activity, or do you switch it up depending on the night?

@mindstruggle Different thoughts seem natural at different times, depending on what has been happening that day.
