I will tell my story of the day a hurricane struck my city.

One night, I was 16 years old and I remember I had a math exam the next day. While I was preparing, a bulletin was published saying a hurricane with winds reaching 100 km/h was going to hit. At that moment, I couldn't believe it and I was terrified. After the ministry issued a document about closing schools due to the winds, I believed it and my fear began to grip me because we lived in old buildings at that time. If the hurricane hit, the whole city would collapse. I remember they gave us two days off at the end of the week, meaning we didn't study for four days. The next day, I woke up scared, waiting for the hurricane, but the city was unusually quiet. Around 4 PM, the hurricane began. I was still gripped by fear and didn't show it to my family. As a result of the hurricane, half the buildings collapsed, but we weren't harmed. From that day on, whenever the wind speed reached even 10 km/h, I felt intense fear. The incident was going to happen again

Very frightening and destructive. I hope there were no fatalities.

I was that way with tornadoes after one hit our house when I was a child. It took years to get over it. Now we have hurricanes, and I just hunker down and wait until they stop.

@exexec Ugh, when that happens I feel like death is right next to me

@Judith2 We have been through enough hurricanes over the years that we can handle them okay. If it going to be a really bad one, we evacuate early.
