The bridge in Oregon. Cobblestones in Greece. Cherry blossom in Japan. Countryside in Italy. Irish/scottish mountains.
@Umile Which bridge in my Beloved HomeState? There's many of them.
Umile · 41-45, F
@NativePortlander1970 The one in your picture oh.
@Umile The foot bridge over Multnomah Falls, 30 minutes east of Portland on I-84 in the Columbia River Gorge.

@NativePortlander1970 I will visit there one day.
Say, how long does it take to go by car from one state to another ?

@Umile From Astoria, Oregon, the northern most tip at the Pacific Ocean, to the Idaho border at Ontario, Oregon, is roughly seven hours, from Western iowa at Council Bluffs to the Mississippi River crossing into Illinois at Burlington, iowa in the east is about four and a half hours, while Going from the Northern Delaware tip at the Pennsylvania border to Rehoboth Beach on the Atlantic Ocean in southern Delaware is roughly 90 minutes. While driving east to west in Texas in December 2005 seemed like eternity, and going east to west through Montana on Greyhound felt like it as well.

@Umile You're so very welcome, and when You get to Astoria, make sure You head south on the Pacific Coast Highway (101), and enjoy all of the beaches along the way.

@NativePortlander1970 no kidding. Astoria ? Why not ?
@Umile Astoria is where Lewis and Clark finished their exploration in the early 1800's, who set up Fort Clatsop, and named after John Jacob Astor, who set up a fur trading company there after his own successful private exploration in 1810.

@NativePortlander1970 wow. Very interesting.
@Umile My Beloved HomeState's history is quite fascinating, including Grant's Pass in southern Oregon, where General Ulysess S. Grant passed through and stopped while campaigning for President, hence the town's name.
Umile · 41-45, F
