There are a number of cautionary tales going around and within the last 3 hours there was a story on the radio that some Brits were arrested on arrival even with the correct documentation.

I never felt especially safe travelling to the USA before 2025, owing to the prevalance of firearms and the default hostility of immigration officials in airports. I would not even consider a trip there in the current environment. It is lawless and dangerous.
@SunshineGirl Problem solved. 🤣
Be fully legal and current in your travel docs. Don't commit crimes while here. You should not have issues.

If you can't do either of those .. stay home. It isn't rocket science.
@BrandNewMan Tell that to the people who are being accused............with no proof or trial whatsoever to prove those accusations..............who are now sitting in a prison in Salvador.
@MaBalzEsHari

No, I'm telling you .. stop lying.

They lack legal documentation of accepted immigration status. That is a misdemeanor first offense, a felony if previously arrested for the offense. They have committed other crimes while here.

Worry about the citizens of this country they commit crimes against before standing up for illegals .. or go live with them anywhere else.
@BrandNewMan I presume you don't read the foreign press but there are many instances of European and Australian tourists, properly documented, being detained at the border, aggressively interrogated for many hours and in some cases refused entry to the US and deported.

Don't pretend things are OK. They aren't.
I've heard some people say that I'm general with Trump leading it, but not nessarily just now.

I wouldnt.. America has become a place to get into and out of on business and stay in your hotel. Its is simply more stressful to be in.😷

Every year I travel from my country to Vancouver with a stop over of 2 - 4 days in the USA.

Not now, I cruise to Japan & then cruise or fly to Van

I'll not visit America under their current Government

Idk how people outside of the US feel but I think it would be fine for anyone who is legal to enter that doesn't engage in anything that would draw attention from the federatie and avoids talking about politics in public, including social media.

Regardless of the fear mongering, America is a melting pot. You’ll be fine. You’re not going to get accosted.
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
It will be interesting to see how it affects the World Cup next year.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SpudMuffin It will be good for the broadcast rights.. So some media moguls and the big money will be happy..😷
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@whowasthatmaskedman yes, good point. I was worried that the rich people might miss out!
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SpudMuffin Capitalism rule One.. the rich NEVER miss out. The trick is to get them to share and see the long term..😷

The Canadian government has recently put out a travel advisory to all Canadians, cautioning all individuals to avoid all travel to the USA unless the reason for travel to the US is absolutely unavoidable.

Canadians as well as European business travelers are being warned to NOT take their cellphones or their laptops into the USA when traveling, but instead take a 'burner phone' containing no personal information, plus a blank laptop which only contains very specific business data and not any personal stuff.

@swirlie have read about that

America's situation with a fascist government leading their parade is more real than Americans are aware of and quite frankly, it's too late to fix the spiral dive they've allowed themselves to get drawn into.
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69
i can provide a complimentary ghetto map so you know where to stear clear of

@BuzzedLightyear
It's no longer the American ghettos that people traveling to the USA have to worry about, it's the gestapo mentality that is experienced in middle class suburbia with ICE agents indiscriminately raiding peoples homes without warrants, no different than Hitler's SS.
