Where would you refuse to travel to even if it was completely paid for? Right now I'm thinking Rio...nothing there for me and the Olympic planning has been a disaster, don't think they are going to meet their deadline...too much corruption...stinking raw sewage that can be smelled at the Olympic venues and body parts washing up on shore....not to mention Zika mosquitoes. What was the Olympic Committee thinking of when they selected Rio as a summer site?
A lot of the big Mexican resort communities that were tourist havens in the 80s are places that I would not accept paid tickets to in the present day. Specifically Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco are places I believe I'd respectfully decline. Might even say no to a trip to Cairo and the Great Pyramids right now given current global political climate.
Duchess: I never had the desire to go to New Orleans anyway, and kind of figured it was that way without being told... Essexphil: Was supposed to go to Turkey to a resort city this summer but plans got cancelled after the friend we were to visit with died a couple months ago, political problems made me wary this winter anyway.
it's a toss up between Salzburg in Austria and Tunisia, both were horrific.. Salzburg though, had I only gone for 1 day, I'd have been happy enough, 4 days was like a living hell.. (there's effin nothing to do there)
Theoneyouwerewarnedabout: I know a couple who went to Nepal a couple summers ago, they came back and said it was horrible...don't know what they were expecting some kind of exotic spiritual place or what but they said it was dirty from the hotels to the heavily polluted rivers floating with trash to the odors...Imagine paying good money for a vacation like that!
Hull... Seriously, never go to Hull. You leave part of you behind every time... *shudder*

@Cherokeepatti, my h/b has been in India a few times for work, he saw someone being knocked down, the other motorists got out of their car and moved him out of the way and carried on their journey.. also he saw guys stopping their motorbikes in the middle of heavy traffic and got off to have a piss in the middle of the road... not hiding what they were doing at all. .. India is a bit crazy
My family's originally from New Orleans, I've been during Mardi Gras, and while that's the main tourist season, it's the worst time imaginable to go. It was a lot different before Katrina, too. I wouldn't go to Miami on a dare.
