I live here so I've been visiting my whole life in a way.

@Wraithorn: What is it like now, i retired to Spain in 1997
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Walter1946: Well generally speaking, the politicians and crime sucks but the fauna and flora are great. I hope you like Spain. Is the grass greener on the other side ?
Walter1946 · 80-89, M
@Wraithorn: No very much the same. Corruption endemic. but much safer can walk out at night anywhere and expect to get home alive. Learning Spanish and making a a new way of life has been fascinating.

@Walter1946: Yes it must be quite interesting adapting to a new way of life. Even though we have 11 different official cultures/languages here they are probably all very different from the Spanish.
I have friends and family who emigrated to Australia, Scotland and USA. They did this mainly to raise their children in a safer environment.
I'm glad you found a safer place to live.

@Wraithorn: Going to Spanish lessons enabled us to make friends and they are English, Danish, German, Dutch, Finnish, Spanish, French the most cosmopolitan place you could hope to find.
We also went to dancing lessons to dance the seviana, the wife has a flamenco dress and I have the complete cowboy outfit.
The Spaniards are very happy to accept people who appreciate and join in with their
way of life.

@Walter1946: Ah yes, that is the key isn't it ? Joining in with their way of life and adapting. A lesson that many Muslim immigrants in certain parts of our planet would do well to remember.
Walter1946 · 80-89, M
@Wraithorn: Yes, it makes me mad they way they expect people to change to suit them.
