Don’t Do This in Kyoto

My youngest nephew just returned from a two-week trip to Japan with some friends. He had a great time, visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, and other places in the country. I’m sure he was respectful to everyone he encountered and never rude (he’s always this way). The same can’t be said for the tourist in the short video posted above.

Last I knew, they shut the street down because of foreigners doing exactly this.

@HootyTheNightOwl Think I read something about that. It's apparently been a big problem there and not limited to just an occasional tourist.

@Rutterman No, it's not an occasional thing. With a lot of the people who are doing it being white and English speaking, the Japanese think that they are English... so us English are getting the rough end of that stick.

There's no need for it... most of these geishas aren't even 21 yet. Just let them go about their day - they'd soon be throwing hands if a foreigner was approaching their 16, 17 or 18 yo daughter in that way, so why do it to these girls???
