States with high tax rates usurp the taxing powers of subordinate jurisdictions. This undermines bottom up government. Takes away the ability of local government to tax and serve the people needs where they live, work and experience life.

The hypocrisy of the US left. From one side of their mouth they proclaim that it takes a village to raise a child. From the other side of their mouth they demand higher and higher taxes at the federal and state levels, stripping the village of the financial power needed to help raise their children.
