I thought a vacation with lots of people would be fun

Now it’s becoming a chore.

Have you ever had to organize a holiday for lots of people ???

It does, doesn’t it!? I organized a family reunion for the summer after my grandpa died and we were supposed to have a little celebration of life for him. The older (50’s at the time) adults decided to rent a cabin instead of camp with the rest of us then they started fighting up there! Not all, just 3 but there were only 7 up there. Anyway all we managed to do is a toast around the fire one evening for grandpa. We haven’t had a family reunion since. The next time most of us go together was my brothers Celebration of Life in 2021 (which I also organized).

Hugs, it’s not easy.

I’ve spent 10 days on the Hawaiian islands by myself. Loved every minute.

@jackson55 that’s my dream vacation - alone!!!
I feel you, have arranged group trips /outings several times.
Nooo…organizing group outings or parties is my middle sister’s forte and I leave her to it. She inherited that skill from our mother. I just show up with food.

No I have not, but it's your vacation too, so just tell them that your sorry but they'll have to handle their own itinerary going forward.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@calicuz I might have to

Not lots, just four married couples. It worked fine. The ladies did their thing, and we men played golf. Dinner was the only time all of us were together.
Yes! Just last year I organized an international trip for 14. Never again. 😂
@Jenny1234 It was just a mess. Everyone wanted to do their own thing, but if there were any hiccups, suddenly I was the problem solver. 😵‍💫

@Nadie and this one is an international trip too. We’re all going to Europe. Ugh lol
@Jenny1234 Best of luck! I would advise getting someone else to help so you can enjoy it too. 🙂

sounds like fun; I'd send them somewhere, then go somewhere completely different myself... 🤔

Yes, took the family to Disney World. Way too much work.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
No and I never will. I don`t do stress well.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@Degbeme smart move. I’m never doing this again

Sometimes more than others. Everyone has a different purpose, other than spending time with family, different activities they want to do

I try to avoid spending any time in groups greater than 2-3.
Oh no. Holidays with my wife's family are full of her family. And unplanned. And not as chaotic as you think, chaotic beyond your wildest dreams 🤭
No and no thank you lol I like winging it

The more you prep the less return on investment you get. With less planning sometimes is the most fun!

No but i consider travel vacations a big ordeal
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Overall, it sounds like hell for me. Too stressful.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@JimboSaturn it’s absolutely turning into hell lolol
Thrust · 56-60, M
No fun. I don't even like packing for myself until the absolute last minute
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Heck no. I really am an introvert. 🙃

More than a dozen you would have a hard time finding me there even. No organizing at all.
can you squeeze one more friend in? 🤭
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@beermeplease I can sure squeeze another friend in and I can put you to work helping me with this and I’ll pay you with beer
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I would never set myself up for this. 😅
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@CrazyMusicLover I think I don’t even know what to think anymore
Solo or couple traveling is the best
I would hate that. For me it would be a nightmare.

Considering how many to include is a quick way to learn the meaning of exponential growth.
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
Gosh never. Fewer is better.
