What's the furthest you have travelled for a sporting event

I was going to say football but it could just as easily apply to any sporting event.

In the 90s my brother and I travelled up to Middlesbrough for a football match only to find the match had been cancelled before we got there meaning we had to turn around and come home again. We went back up the following week and the match was played.

@SW-User I would have got the train too. Never been into rugby league. We played rugby union at school. I would like to see an international one day.

@SW-User the only professional rugby match I ever saw was Caerphilly playing a cup match against a team of part timers. It wasn't very competitive but it was good fun.
