Should overweight passengers have to pay more for plane tickets?

Some airlines does this, is this discrimination or do you support it as the more you weigh, the more room you take up. The more fuel the plane will burn etc.
is this just common sense or is it way too unpopular.

By that logic then my underweight wife who tips the scales at barely 100# would be charged less. It all evens out.

@RSquared It would seem to be economical from that stand point but it wouldn't happen.
We already know that companies are going to do things that work in their own favor.

@Punches Yes, they would take the "extra" but you can't ever see them handing anything back.
