The Cotswolds are a beautiful area.
It is also the source of the River Thames although why they define that by a small, dry doline right on top of the plateau, instead of a spring at the foot, rather puzzles me! It might be on the watershed, perhaps.
I sometimes use the Fosse Way as a scenic but also more direct route for some of my journeys, running more or less along the hills from SW to NE.
