Surely there is no such thing as a useful souvenir!

@Eyeinthesky I have some souvenirs from our time in China in the late 1980s. One of them is a tube of toothpaste; but it isn't useful because I will never use it!
If you use it then surely it isn't the toothpaste but the tube it came in that is the souvenir :-)

I really enjoyed Shanghai few years ago... regret I didn't get a chance to visit Beijing at that time.

@Eyeinthesky In no particular order, and using more than one spelling convention: Canton, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Jiexi, Ningbo, Bejing, Hangzhou, Shantou, Jinan, and briefly several other place en route.

@ninalanyon Im sure you had all the great local dishes while traveling China... 😋

@Eyeinthesky Had some but I drew the line at fried bees and pigeon heads. Had dog, also had frogs legs, and a snake. But most other dishes were more conventional. In some places we taught the locals how to make some things that we liked from home.

@Eyeinthesky I was there on business, didn't really have any choice about exactly where I went. But it was a great adventure, long before China became the economic power that it is now.
