Travel is not Fun Anymore

I was supposed to go to Thailand and China to see the Terracotta warriors in april. I put my deposit down and bought travel insurance.

I was hoping to bypass Beijing (been there and done that) but nope. part of the trip. Well China closes down the country, They will not issue visas and all i can get is 75% of my money back.

Why? no policy covers a country closing down. I am so angry right now. So I signed a travel voucher to move the policy to my next trip and i have 850.00 stuck in this travel agency. sigh.

But did you check the travel risk rating before you bought that insurance??

@Soossie I always do on the Dept of Justice website. I assumed that because they were offering trips it was open. Shortly after my deposit, things got hairy. I called and switched my insurance to a better plan but it doesn't cover countries closing

@Soossie it was how could i minimize my loss. if i made a claim, i got 75% of 850 and lose the insurance policy. So I am going to try to take another trip with them to Thailand

i find that sometimes the website is not up to date. they had Ireland coded a high risk and itwas not

Thailand should be safe and this is the perfect season for traveling to Thailand… don’t go later than February tho….

I spent three weeks in Kohl’s Lanta and loved it…. I don’t like crowded places like Bangkok or Phuket… in Kohl’s Lanta one can only rest without having to go to places with so many tourists…

@Soossie the trip was to Phuket but i wanted to go to Bangkok too. it was only the one city. i am going to wait and see what they offer. if you don't mind, can i message you when i go?

Bangkok is very very crowded and when I was there (spent 3 nights in there) it smelled bad… everywhere that you go they will offer you three thing, Toctoc ( a motorcycle with a cabin turned into an interesting vehicle ), Taxi, and ping pong show which is emmmm… not for ladies to watch… lol

Phuket is more of a fun… crowded but fun… I needed a “getaway from crowd” vacation, that’s why I travelled on my own to a very quiet and beautiful Island… (Ko in Thai language means Island….

@Soossie i have to use this 850 credit. i will keep looking for deals. Thailand with China was perfect but thailand alone was Phuket
