The modern shops could be corporate-anywhere but what beautiful and fascinating old buildings the town has! Even though I live only about 60 miles from Taunton I have never visited it: perhaps I ought!
I suppose the sword-and-stone sculpture plays to those naive enough to believe the Arthurian stories were all true. They seems to keep the knick-knack shops up the road in Glastonbury, busy, though.
