Which city do you consider the best to live in, visit, or read about in the world?

DownTheStreet · 51-55, M
I’ve been to so many but still many to go...

Different places for different things ... I liked downtown London, and downtown Copenhagen...very different. Places like Née York and Chicago...you can take them. Sydney was nice, Hong Kong was almost too much to believe. Tokyo was crazy. Paris was serene. And so it goes.

I live in Los Angeles and live it but it’s not a city for the struggling, it’s too expensive.

@DownTheStreet It's a world of contrasts there, and the homelessness is so ugly!

@Lust4Life yep, and while is worse than normal now, it will never go away here.

@DownTheStreet the climate is nice but the situation there now is terrible. I guess there are pocket areas that are still good but you don’t want to go traipsing around in areas that you aren’t familiar or that you haven’t been to in a long while. When I visited several times in the early 90’s we went to beaches that are now no longer very safe.

No cities have captivated me like Paris and New York.

@SW-User Paris is beautiful! Have you been to Napoli, or Roma? Venezia or Firenze?

@Lust4Life To all of those, yep. I’ve been all over Italy.

Venice, New York, Paris, London, Florence, Rome, Budapest, Sydney, Melbourne, Rio, and Tokyo would be my top favorite cities.

Colorado looks nice
CestManan · 46-50, F
@royalblue1193 That place is my second home. Me and a friend just got back from vacationing there. Colorado Springs is really nice.

Only down side - it made me realize what a squat hole my home town really is.
royalblue1193 · 31-35, M
@CestManan I been curious about that area what were your impressions?
CestManan · 46-50, F
@royalblue1193 The only two areas I know much about are Colorado Springs and Pueblo. They are about 35 miles apart. I have lived in both cities and also have family around there.

Pueblo is pretty "blah". Not much to see, just a small town trying to be big. You ain't missing anything there.

But let us get to the good part and discuss where my heart lives, Colorado Springs -

The landscape is quite clean and nice. Drivers are courteous. The roads curve a lot so it is not like driving on a grid like how most metropolis are set up. You also do not hear very many loud cars.

It is a fairly big town but is not run down like say Kansas City or St Louis. If you have never seen mountain ranges up close and personal, you will be blown away as you ride around the city and there they are to the west. No pictures can do it justice.

The warm months are nice and can get hot but with low humidity, it is tolerable. With the altitude being about 6,000 ft above sea level, it is a little harder to breathe at times but not horrible. Winter can be brutal though on some days.

Weed is fully legal as long as you are over 21. It is treated basically like alcohol. You do have to get it at a dispensary and limited to one ounce a day, they do scan your I.D.

If you go, there is a city within the city of C.S. called "Manitou Springs." It's a Historic town. Arcade games, couple bars, wiccan shops, gift/souvenir shops, HELL of scenery, couple hotels, You need to check it out. AND -
just before you hit Manitou, there is a place that is like a miniature Grand Canyon called "Garden of the Gods". No charge to get in. Might as well say GoG is part of Manitou.

Ft Carson is nearby, at the south end of Academy Blvd, but it isn't open really for tourists I don't think. BTW, Academy is the main city street running mostly north and south.

If you are taking I-70 west and enter Colorado, there is a few hour drive though til you hit a town called Limon. Like most of Kansas, there isn't really anything to see, but it looks like you could just reach up and touch the clouds. Limon is just some small town and you take s.r. 24 for about 70 miles and there is C.S.

I had the privilege of living in eastern Colorado for about eight years of my life, I won't bore you with my life story though.

Anything you want to know, I am more than happy to talk about.
