What does it take to move to another country? [I Like Travel]

each country has its own way of dealing with immigrants, I heard that some countries require only that someone buys real estate above a certain value and they get instant citizenship ( Costa Rica ?) but I don't know if that's true. other countries its a long process that goes from temporary residence to permanent residence to citizenship. just google "how do I move to 'name of a country' ?
