Tomorrow I'm going to Saint Elizabeth's Priory with Father Alexander.

It has long been a driving thought in my life to devote my life to the religious life. Yes, those of you who regularly read my stories and entries here might be surprised! I am in a deep personal quandary.

An American friend has proposed to me, and shown respect for my feelings about a vocation saying it's something I can think of and maybe go on with after we have married and had children, I can then withdraw to a convent in later life.

I am drawn to devoting more of my time to being a Poor Clare nun, and becoming a good sister in a community here in the Südtirol, up at Saint Elizabeth's Priory, a short drive from us here, and tomorrow I'm driving there to talk with the Prioress.

I also have a role to play with my brothers on our family vineyard. Our parents are looking to lighten their involvement as they go towards retirement. I have been working unpaid on the vineyard since I returned from Roma as the lockdown took affect. Obviously, my living costs and recent holiday week was paid for by my parents.

The drive and visit tomorrow afternoon might help me in my decisions.

Remember whatever you decide to do you can always change you mind at a later date, unless that's deciding to have children.
