ALASKA You have to see it at least once. There is no other place like Alaska. Alaska had been on my bucket list for years. I decided to book a cruise on Holland America and just go. Out of the blue, a friend (who gambles) decided to go with me....

I went to Alaska a few years back. I flew into Anchorage, via a couple days in Seattle but that's a different story. I rented an RV and toured, Talkeetna, Denali, went kayaking on the Eagle River and went to Seward. It never got dark when I was there. Loved it

Of course! You haven鈥檛 really seen AK until you get off the boat, IMHO. Also, go salmon or Halibut fishing! Take a plane to Kodiak and watch the bears. Bike the coastal trail and watch the Beluga Whales. Drive to Valdez a/k/a Little Switzerland. Blueberry pick, but don鈥檛 forget your bells! @akindheart

Butchart is very nice to spend the day at ,,,But so is all of Vancouver Island ,, we have such a great coastline here on the west both you and ours ,,,

@akindheart I was on a trecking tour in the Yukon Territory for three weeks. Afterwards I travelled on my own and made a trip from White Horse down to the coast. I visited Hains and Skagway (not Sitka).

My dad was stationed in Alaska in the late 50's but retired and returned home a year before I was born. Then when I was 22 and just starting a new career at a nuclear power plant they went on a 3 month trip to Alaska. I've seen so many photos and heard so many stories. I want so badly to go and see with my own eyes.
