What do you think is the more appropriate penalty for rape?

Firstly the more appropriate word here is Punishment and not penalty, though Penalty can be part of the set of Punishments. Punishment is not vengeance but must be a deterrent for others to commit the crime. There is no use of punishments if it does not deter people from committing the crime in future. So thinking of an appropriate punishment and penalty, the rapist must be made a slave of the victim, serving the victim all life. Penalty would be transfer of the entire estate of the rapist to the victim enriching them for life. This will prevent the rich and influential from committing the act. On the flip side, the punishment for false / late accusers must also be severe. So any victim must be able to report the crime at once and record the incident by calling a hotline, anonymously. But if they delay the reporting, it means there is vested interest. A person should also be able to report casting couch / sex for reward which can be converted as Rape if the perpetuator fails to fulfil the promise.
