When I was 8

I was in the kitchen with my sister and she said she smelled chocolate cooking it was 1972 no fire safety was taught so don't judge. I had a long sleeve shirt on and was picking up the lids on the pots the third lid I came to close to a burner that was on but it wasn't read so I didn't know my sleeve caught on fire I went through the house looking for my mom and went back through the house she came in a put the closest thing to her to put it out they took me to the hospital and put mr in Ice just regular cubed Ice as they were taking it off layers of skin was coming off as well then the worst thing my arm was pulling together because the skin was growing together went through a whole lot of pain with my mom pulling apart the skin growing together because that's what the doctors told her to do. Finally found a dr that would talk to me and tell me what he was going to do, I had a total of 3 good skin grafts and one the first hospital did wrong so scared for life on my leg. I hid that part of me so long I wore something to hide my arm till 1987 took it off and threw it in the trash and never hid it again. I have been judged by many because of this. People don't notice it much anymore I am 58 no 50 years this happened to me. I am me and I love me

As well you should. I'm so sorry this happened to you but I'm glad you didn't die from it. You are such a brave soul. I have seen burned victims around town and I will never believe that looks matter that much. I know they may feel embarrassed but I truly believe with all my heart and soul that it's not what we look like on the outside but what is on the inside that counts. If a person is kind and sweet to others, I truly feel that's all that matters. ❤🙏🤗🌹🌹🌹
