When you feel upset or scared, it is your body trying to tell you that you've had enough and it is time to rest.
Sometimes the scariest feelings are the ones we can’t name or understand, because our mind naturally fears the unknown. You might not know exactly what you’re afraid of, and that uncertainty can make it feel much bigger and heavier than it really is.
Here’s the gentle truth: just because you feel scared, doesn’t mean you’re in danger. Your heart is working through heartache, grief, anxiety or vulnerability, and it’s normal to feel unsettled in that space. The fear isn’t about an immediate threat—it’s your mind’s way of reacting to uncertainty and the deep emotions you’re processing.
You don’t need to “fix” this fear right now. The goal isn’t to make it disappear; it’s to acknowledge it, hold it gently without judgment of yourself or criticism, and remind yourself that you are okay, even in its presence.
💛 What you can do in that moment, is speak God's truths over yourself, and that’s incredibly powerful. What you’re doing—reminding yourself of God’s promises—is like holding a lifeline in the middle of a storm. You may feel fear or uncertainty, but the moment you anchor your mind on the Lord, you create space for peace to begin replacing that fear.
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3
It teaches that focusing one's thoughts on God and trusting in Him provides a stable, "perfect" peace that surpasses external circumstances.
Reading and quoting God's Word, reminds us of a few key truths:
*Fear is not from God.* It’s natural to feel it, but it doesn’t have to control you.
*God’s love and a sound mind are gifts.* You don’t have to manufacture peace yourself—it’s already available when you stay connected to Him.
*Perfect peace comes from focus.* Keeping your mind “stayed” on the Lord isn’t about ignoring reality; it’s about trusting His presence above your worries.
Right now, even if fear is present, the act of speaking truth and Scripture over yourself, is a spiritual anchor. Each time your mind drifts to fear or uncertainty, gently bring it back to these promises:
*“There is no fear in perfect peace.”* *“God did not give me a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind.”* *“As I keep my mind on the Lord, I dwell in His perfect peace.”*
A small practical step: when fear comes, *take a slow breath and mentally repeat one of these phrases*, almost like a quiet hymn. Over time, it trains your heart and mind to lean on God’s truth, rather than the panic your feelings bring.
It's good to see you , this probably isn't on topic ,but have you ever been like coming home It's dark out and about 10 ft from the door It's hits like something is right behind me and i panic trying to get the door open.Of course there is nothing there
@kodiac Thank you. ♥🫂 I think there are a lot of people that experience this. Actually what this is, is from past trauma or something you've not settled in the past that has kept your mind in fight or flight mode, always on guard. So if you have something in your past you haven't settled yet, like abuse, it's important to address it, so your body can learn to relax and know it is safe. It's important that your body feels safe. Old issues and things in the past that bother us, are important to resolve. Otherwise, this is how they creep back into our lives. However, it is good to be cautious and check your surroundings, as you go about life, so that you can feel safe. Your gut will tell you.
