My search is currently teaching me that everything I wish to achieve starts with ME. Healthy relationships, friendships and partnerships, goals and achievements, career, money, health& beauty and spiritual fulfillment (everyone and everything) requires me be happy, motivated, confidence, self-loving, balanced and self-knowing. Unfortunately I have been trying to find these tools outside of myself. I have given time and energy to everything and everyone apart from myself. I have wondered why, despite my best efforts nothing seems to work out. (Everything and everyone = E&E) is receiving the run down, ugly anxious, desperate, irritable version of myself. I lost myself. So I cannot embrace E&E and E&E cannot embrace me. The formula is to rather invest everything that I have invested outward into myself first.
One simple change: I am late for work almost every morning. As a single mother of three my mornings are hectic. I always start with the kids. I get them and their stuff ready for school first and then I take care of myself last. The only thing I changed was to begin with myself and wala!! I make it to work on time and i am less confused and forgetful. Moral of the story: Take care of yourself first in order to be in a position to successfully engage with others. Now, myself; my kids ; their daycare and my employer are happy.
