It's been pretty bad lately for me, but I'm still at a profit overall. Last year was amazing for crypto and I ended with a few thousand to add to my financial cushion.

If anybody is giving you advice or acting like they which tokens will do what, you should automatically assume they're full of chips. Nobody really knows where the market is heading, or which coins will perform best.

It operates like a stock market where investor confidence matters a lot, and right now there is a lot of uncertainty regarding legislation and regulation regarding crypto markets all over the world. Keep your eyes and ears tuned to the news because bad news leads to temporary dips that eventually pick back up once it's revealed as minor. It's a great time to make money.

But there are something like 15,000 cryptocurrencies out there, so most are a scam. It's a cash grab that promises insane yields and returns to people that want to get rich overnight, but most of the time that money is gone forever.

I would stick with a lot of the bigger coins, like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Cardano. I've gotten great returns from them alone, and because of their size they are almost too big to fail. A lot of financial institutions and major corporations have assets tied up in these big coins, so the likelihood is that they'll be able to weather crashes and dips better than most others.

And as always, diversify your portfolio. I've taken some losses with certain coins that, thankfully, were small enough not to care and outweighed by gains with other tokens.
