@BlueGreenGrey I agree with the first part - the amount of electricity now being used world-wide by the Internet is staggering and the cyber-currency racket is one of the largest single users.('Bitcoin' is only one brand of many of these dubious, unregulated, unofficial "currencies".)
However, it is hard to see how the world's huge and fast-growing need for electricity can be met without using nuclear power (as well as wind, solar and water power), which is undeniably costly and difficult but by no means the problem its opponents claim.
