How does anyone sleep without wall to wall, ceiling to floor blackout curtains?

I'm the type who can't sleep if there's even a bit of light in the room.

@Longpatrol This is a bad neighborhood and I suppose the lights and cameras help keep the bad guys away so I haven't complained. The law is that lights have to be aimed down, not out, but they are all aimed out. Yeah, they must be rich.

I worked shift work for years and years. I slept in the basement when I worked nights (which meant, of course, I slept during the day). This room had no window so no sunlight ever got in.
