Today's absolutism
One might be still under the disillusionment that social media is here to further interactions between various and different kinds of people, well, it has already disproved that assumption in all earnestness. Yes, on the contrary, anything online now works against that, and rather shows up differences where for example age gaps are.
Post something like "Tell your age by the movie that was playing in theaters when you grew up" and most of the reactions will be querries what a theater is. Likewise, twenty years ago literary classics were only known by their movie addaptations, but now the reaction is that they're either boring or that they're not known.
It's a really scary age that we're in now. Like Roman society before the barbarians took over completely, our material wealth and comfortable living has lulled the most of us already into giving it all up to AI. It's indeed not AI that will destroy anything but our utter unwillingness to even question anything at all these days.
