You are still much more likely to die driving your car, crossing the road or in the presence and by the hand of those you know than terrorism. I think your fears are media driven.

@Zeusdelight: Yesterday in Berlin Germany a Muslim extremist ran people down with a truck as they were doing their Christmas shopping,killing 12 and injuring 50.This is seen more and more often in the news and a "Christmas attack"planned by Muslims was foiled last week in England,these are facts! It is happening,it is not media driven to make us afraid,it is news people should know.

62 out of 6 billion people were effected by a terrorist attack yesterday. If that happened every day for a year that'd be 20,000 out of 6 billion. Still very good odds. More than 62 people died of hunger cause by political forces yesterday. The media didn't seem to report that!

@Zeusdelight: I know people die for many other reasons in the world,but terrorism is only going to get worse and create more victims,so you don't think acts of terrorism should be made known? They are happening and they are terrible.

You assume terrorism is going to get worse and create more victims. It may or may not. The media likes to portray everything negatively. Bad news sells.

I'm happy for the media to report things in balance. But if I say to you terrorists and Muslims are they synonymous terms. The media would have us believe so. They don't report what the Muslim leaders say about these terrorists because it wouldn't sell.

@Zeusdelight: There is a movement within Islam called Muslim modernism,sadly it does not get enough support,I have a link here,may be those leaders who deplore terrorism belong to this movement.

No, I think those leaders are from the general Muslim population. They meet each year. Basic religions preach love and acceptance not murder, when they are in their normal form.

@Zeusdelight: Muslim modernism is in the general population,but it does not get enough support it seems.Yet there are many violent verses in the Qu'ran urging followers to kill infidel and kill those who leave Islam.

@Zeusdelight: One cleric I just listened to believes that the modernisation of Islam would deny religious beliefs,deny Islam itself.I was going to post the video but then there are quite a few more to follow,if you are interested I will post the first one.

@Zeusdelight: You meant violent Muslims? Not violent non Muslims because there are verses in the Qu'ran that dictate to the followers of that ideology/religion to "kill the infidels wherever you find them" and kill whoever leaves Islam.

Well you will find such violence for minor indiscretions in the Old Testament of the Christian bible. Do real Christians follow them?

@Zeusdelight: No,they would not,but the problem with terrorism is with Islam at the moment and I am certainly not saying that ALL Muslims are terrorists or even think that way.But sharia law is being carried out in Muslim countries by moderate Muslims as the dictate of Mohamed and sharia law is a barbarous law.This is why Islam needs reform,Christianity has reformed.

Sharia law itself is not barbarous. The interpretation of and application of it can be. Indoneasia has the worlds largest Muslim population outside the Arab world and has sharia law in a non-barbaric application.

@Zeusdelight: When you say that sharia law is not barbarous,you say that if a woman gets raped she does not get stoned to death for adultery if married or receive 100 lashes if single for "extra marital" sex,people who steal do not have their hand cut off and foot cut off on the opposite side,that gay people are not put to death either by stoning or beheading,that those who decide to leave Islam and adopt another faith or no faith at all do not get beheaded,that wives do not get beaten by their husbands if the husband even suspect they have done something he objects to.that the testimony of a woman is only worth half of that of a man,that a woman only inherit half of a legacy.in divorce court the woman is automatically put in the wrong and the man gets custody of the children.No this is NOT barbarous.
