I Wonder What People Really See
When you gaze at your face in the mirror what do you see, is it merely what is on the surface or do your eyes reflect your inner self? The eyes are the mirrors of the soul, I've looked into some peoples eyes and truthfully I've been a little frightened by what they've told me. I like to think that I am a good judge of character that my opinion matters to a certain degree. I am often astounded at the perspective of certain individuals in regards to what they actually see in regards to certain people that I actually know.
Do you often wonder what others see in you, what makes them attracted to the person you are. I believe that from the day we are born until the day we leave this world behind that our lives are mapped out for us. We all have a destiny and purpose in this life. I've been to a clairvoyant in the past, I've never really previously believed in the supernatural or a soothsayer as my Mama often called them. This lady was elderly and had the gift as I've often heard it said.
She told me things about my life that no one else had ever known. Certain events that had occurred, that gave me the goose bumps and a few chills. She looked into my eyes and said you have that gift my dear, the one of perception and discernment. I was startled and yet I felt somehow that she knew me, saw into my heart and understood my soul. I've come to realize as I've matured that she was right, I do have that knowledge about others, kind of like a six sense if you will. I am not saying that I can see into someone's future, I seem to understand at times what makes a person tick and maybe I'm able to give them a little insight now and then.
There is an expression that has been around for a long time and it is "never judge a book by it's cover." I think that we all have to see inside that book to truly be able to understand who the person actually is before we can make any sort of judgement call or determine who they are. I've never really appreciated it when someone says, " I can read them like a book or I have their number, you don't need to tell me." I have only ever wanted someone to see me for who I am the complete entity the entire persona, not just by my face but what lies beneath the surface. I remember my Grandmother telling me as a child, never be quick to judge anyone until you know and understand the whole story.
