What do/did you like about being in your 40s?

I'm a few years yet from 40, but am wondering what I could look forward to.

My 40's was filled with recovering who I was, what I wanted and creating my own path instead of letting others make it for me. It was when I changed jobs, got a new career, bought my first house and did things the way I wanted. My 40's were good to me.
