One often does not know whether or not one is "in danger of catching" something.
I've met a guy who was one of the last ppl in the US to catch polio--not pretty. The HPV vaccine helps prevent some cancers--not a bad thing. Hepatitus vaccines aren't stupid, since you might be exposed to that. Shingles is not only really REALLY annoying, for months, it can get in some very bad places (notably, an eye), and can have aftereffects. Tetanus is also not desirable.
These are all good to prevent.
