I Wish I Knew Then What I Know Now

I want to thank primnproper for encouraging me to post my story about love.
my story is not about love of a girl, a wife nor a daughter.it is about my father.
Me and my father did not have the ideal relationship, we used to fight nearly everyday, a lot of conflicts and the father -son issues.
after i settle down and had my 1 year baby, and passed through a little experiences and events comparing to what he faced , i started to figure out how much endurance he faced to gather me to this point.
The man that i consider my idol now is that 60 years old bold and beard man, a father of 3 males and 5 females, who is just finished his 4th grade at school and a father of doctors, engineers, nurse and a teacher.
when i was 11 years me ,my brother and 2 sisters lost our mother to death, which led him to marry my aunt to ensure us a stable life without discrimination or alteration.which were as he planned .
I owe him learning me how to read and the basic math operations , when he nestled me in his lap while teaching me reading the newspaper. or the competitions and the gifts he offered to me to save the multiplication table .
i know that i did not live a spoiled life , comparing to my peers and even current little brothers , but i know realized that the effort and endurance he had were just to ensure us the suitable life that he can.
he stood down in his favorite farm now after many vocations he experienced, just to offer us the life he was dreaming of.
I have learned from him how to be generous and caring for others, how to be a good father and my daughter s best man.
I call him every day and visit him twice weekly , i would bow for him and kiss his hands despite knowing that he did not offer me the life of dream for a young guy, but i am convinced that it was the life of dream for him.
MY ADVICE for every one (love and accept your parents as they are , because they are the only one who has been thinking about you since your birth).
love you dad.

Lovely story. Your father made a huge positive impact in your life which is wonderful. I imagine he must feel great satisfaction in knowing how much he is appreciated.

What I took as being most important from this story is the realisation and appreciation of the positives now, and the love that the poster has for his father now.

@fazer1k: exactly that is what I meant. maybe because I started tobrealize how father's feel and act toward this sons .

That is such a lovely inspiring story, it makes up for the strained relationships you read about between parents and children..Thank you so much for posting this.
Your daughter is one lucky girl to have such a sensitive caring dad..

Your father seems to be a great man with a great son. :-)

i do not think he has a great son until i can pay back my loan for him, which is impossible.

You are doing it. You are the main man for your daughter. That means a lot, specially for a girl. Don't you see he cannot be prouder than you.
But, yes...I know what you mean. Enjoy your time with him.
