Free To Be Trapped

Eventually, years of tumultous highs and lows are going to reach a peak, if they don't get lost in the valley or drown in the shallow creek. Eventually, lemon light will shine through this thick veil of fog, if it doesn't get caught in my left eye and blind me, right eye clogged. So I put on these rose smeared lenses, a picture performative act. Cameras shutter island, healthy sick patients. Take a stroll around the yard, watchful flies are buzzing heads. Hold onto my own lopsided, as the guards revile my stench. Guilty by dissociation, I stumble to my cot. Willfully unmedicated, chase the chicken down the clock. Shadows stretch across the bricks, cold and disengaged. Men in white surround my bed, spreading rumors like a plague. God, please let me sleep this night. Devils wake me up. To the chime of a thousand death knells, gone by breakast, dead by lunch.
