Something that modern dating gaslights people into believing..
Something that I think most people, especially us younger people in the dating scene forget, is that no matter how much they say so or you think otherwise, you are NEVER responsible for someone and their wellbeing.
You are your own person as they are theirs. Yes, you can support them and be there for them, but you aren't and should NEVER be solely responsible for the entirety of their physical and mental wellbeing, and if they aren't capable of being responsible for themselves and try to hand that responsibility onto you, making you feel trapped, it might be a hard pill to swallow, but you can and should simply just step away from that relationship if they can't function as a person.
Yes, it might seem cruel or mean leaving someone who emotionally depended on you so much, but it's what's best for you, and them. If they depended on you to that point, the relationship isn't and wasn't going to last and absolute worst case scenario, ended with either you, them, or both of you dead, so it would be best to just step away from it, so you can focus on yourself, and so they can hopefully seek the help they need.
So just for a summary, no matter how harsh it is, you aren't responsible for someone's wellbeing while dating them.
But that's just my two cents on it tho so ye :>
