I Have An Unpopular Opinion
Alright, a lot of people agree with this movement so I know I'm going to get a lot of controversy over this topic. An FYI that this is an unpopular opinion, and you're in an unpopular opinion group.
The thing that annoys me the most is when people twist professionalism to sexism. Professionalism is not sexism. A professional environment reflects itself when people are professional and follow the rules. Having a professional attire, is one such rule.
People nowadays complain about wanting to look "sexy" but can't do it in a professional environment. The whole idea of a workplace is to its uphold professional standards, values and reputation. Would you be comfortable going to a clinic with doctors wearing boxers and flip flops, and nurses wearing t-shirt and panties? Of course not, because that breaches the idea of professionalism. Wearing a lazy, sexy attire is not the way to go in a professional environment. Not happy with the rules? Find a new job! Why is it so hard to follow the rules and be professional? It's the same as acting in a professional manner at school - if you were a teacher, you wouldn't flirt with your students because that is a breach of professionalism.
