I Have An Unpopular Opinion

I’m 100% for abortion.

Do you know how rare it is in nature for an animal to take on an offspring that is not its own? It does not happen often, you can see this with humans as well. Thousands of babies/kids are put up for adoption but never find a family. Many facing abuse within the system. They struggle to make it once they age out of the system. Many run into issues with the law, homelessness, and finding a job.

In nature, it is common for the mother to rid herself of any unwanted babies. Fortunately abortion gives us the opportunity to terminate the offspring before it can realize death is upon it. Any other animal will eat, kill, or abandon its unwanted offspring after birth. It is not natural to keep the unwanted babies around if you can not handle motherhood for any reason.

Before you say we can’t compare ourselves to animals, I must say we “ain’t nothing but mammals”. This is a universal thing across the animal kingdom, it effects us.

yes abortions. but they need to use condoms. birth control pills. spermicidal foam. and iuds. so abortions are rare. 😺
I don’t care if they’re rare. Have one each month, it’s no ones business but the woman’s. @trackboy

@MorbidCynic you are talking about two different things.....you're encouraging abortions...you think that is ok?
Obviously @Fernie

Fernie: you're encouraging abortions...you think that is ok?

MorbidCynic: Obviously.

In what cases are you encouraging abortion? I'm honestly trying to understand. Like... in general? As in, women should not get pregnant in the first place? But if they do, then you are in favor of abortion?

Or are we just talking about unwanted pregnancies?

Maybe the reason I am so shocked by your statements here is because I'm not fully understanding. What it sounds like to me is that you CELEBRATE abortions. That you are like, "Oh, you're pregnant? You should get an abortion! That would be the right thing to do!" And you don't seem to be qualifying your statements.
I just feel like abortion should be an option if you can not handle a child (financially, emotionally, etc) or will pass along bad genetic defects. Do not bring a child into this world unless you can guarantee that child will have its best life. @BryanSunshine
Fernie · F
@MorbidCynic genetic defects??? ARE YOU INSANE KID? Where will it stop then? Next you'll say people should abort a child if their hair color doesn't match the living room drapes!!! I now know you are quite mad.
If the child has a defect that means it will have little to no quality of life, why subject your child to that issue? That’s cruel. Making someone live knowing they will be nothing but miserable.@Fernie

"Do not bring a child into this world unless you can guarantee that child will have its best life."

Nobody can make such a guarantee.
I'm really, really glad you are not in charge.
Yes, me being in charge would let people make their own life decisions. I do not enforce my personal opinions, only the right of people having choices. Like getting an abortion for whatever is deemed necessary by the one pregnant.@BryanSunshine

@MorbidCynic I worked for many years with children who had EVERY type of disability...happy children with a wonderful quality of life. What century is your mind in ? You're a heartless fiend. Very stupid mindset...scary to know you are out there with ovaries. Please do NOT give birth or run for any political office
Well now I want to do all that just to spite you. I’m going to get pregnant ASAP just so I can get an abortion. @Fernie

My sister and brother-in-law have a daughter who has down syndrome. She is my favorite niece, by far.

My wife's brother and sister-in-law have a son who has an extreem case of spina bifida and will most likely never walk. He is a delight, a joy, and a light to all who know him.

My wife has a brother who is 21 years old. He is severally mentally and physically handicapped. Can't talk. Can't walk. Can't eat without being fed. My in-laws will freely tell anyone and everyone that he is the light and joy of their lives.

@MorbidCynic, you have a lot of growing up to do still.
It’s really wrong to choose a favorite niece. That’s implying that you don’t love everyone in your family as much as you can, that’s so sad.

I’m sure if they could have chosen to be normal, they would have. They are not living to their full potential and serve no purpose for the advancement of our species.

Just because they bring you joy, that does not mean that their life is satisfying. It is selfish to believe anyone should live because they make *you* happy.

Like I said, you have a lot of growing up to do still. I'm not being critical. I'm just stating a fact. Your views are typical of those that come with youth. Let's have this conversation again in 20 years. I promise you... your views will have changed.
Why are your bringing up age now? Typically people do that when they run out of valid arguments. It’s a sign of weakness to use unrelated factors in a debate. You lack the ability to educate and hold your point, so you dig for any reason to make yourself look correct. @BryanSunshine
Fernie · F
@MorbidCynic In the scheme of things you are a child right now...very little life experience...you prove that with every comment you type. You speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child, debate like a child, think you know more than the people who came long before you...like a child...yes, DO come back in 20 years awake and aware
I can hold my arguments without resorting at grasping for straws. I use real life examples (such as what happens in the animal kingdom). I run my opinions based on logic and not emotion, unlike the two of you. You have no idea what my life has been like nor what I experienced. Basing experience on age is a ridiculous form of measurement. Some older people lived very sheltered life and some younger people had it very hard growing up. It’s really debatable on who is more knowledgeable. Do you think someone who has always been rich person can tell someone who lived in poverty what is best for them and their socio-economic class just because they are older? They never worked their way out of hard life. They know nothing, even at old age.

A lot of arguments are based on facts and statistics. Which age of the person means nothing when presented with this information.

If you want to say I act like a child, I want you to provide example OTHER than me disagreeing with you. @Fernie

Well, I wasn't going to address your points one by one, because they were so far off the spectrum of anything that seemed reasonable, I didn't really see the point. But since you challenged me, here goes:

It’s really wrong to choose a favorite niece. That’s implying that you don’t love everyone in your family as much as you can, that’s so sad.

To the last one of us, every man, woman, child, aunt, uncle and cousin... we all agree. She is the favorite of ever person in our large extended family.

I’m sure if they could have chosen to be normal, they would have. They are not living to their full potential and serve no purpose for the advancement of our species.

You really do sound exactly like Hitler, with this comment.

Just because they bring you joy, that does not mean that their life is satisfying. It is selfish to believe anyone should live because they make *you* happy.

And what about they fact they THEY are happy? That THEY are glad to be alive? Does that mean nothing to you?
I just think it’s sad you guys choose a favorite, and it’s probably only because you feel bad that she’s disabled.

It’s been proven that the species has been declining evolution wise by letting people live who would have been weened out naturally,

If they can not communicate, how do you know they are happy?

I also should have said... according to you... If they might make us sad, or be an inconvenience, or get in the way, then they should be killed.
I said aborted as a fetus, not killed after birth. @BryanSunshine

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here. You've never loved a handicapped person, have you.

Citation needed.

If they can not communicate, how do you know they are happy?

See my previous comment about you never having loved a handicapped person.
What does being handicapped have to do with choosing favorites?

That does not prove they are happy lol

If they can not communicate, how do you know they are happy?

Also, see my previous comment about your youth and lack of life experience. If you have to ask this question, then there is a mighty lot you don't understand about life, happiness and love.
lol Why don’t you just answer the questions? @BryanSunshine
