@Stereoguy How much do you spend for fuel for a two or three week road trip?

@Stereoguy well for as many miles as you’ve gone and seeing things up close it’s good, you also don’t have to worry about hotels & bedbugs (yikes). How do you like Little Rock?

@Stereoguy what was at the Stockyards besides Cattlemen’s Cafe? I didn’t even realize there was anything there.

@Stereoguy Didn’t realize that there was that type of thing up there. Do they have Western wear shops and other such things?

@Stereoguy Do they give you the Heebie-Jeebies or what? I’d like to take the boy there.

@Stereoguy I don’t like them either but they are a reality that I try to avoid outdoors. I took the boy fishing at Lake Thunderbird one time at a pier. There was an old guy there and he told me he goes fishing at either Thunderbird or Draper Lake every day that the weather is good. He told me he fishes off the pier at Thunderbird cause the Pygmy rattlesnakes are thick around the edges of the lake, they stay in the rocky areas most of the time and come out to catch frogs. I sure didn’t want to take the boy fishing where I had to watch his every step so we stayed on the pier.

@Stereoguy have you encountered a few snakes in Florida?

@Stereoguy I hate when I am pulling grass behind the fig bushes and I smell a snake. Also when weed eating around the shed I smelled a snake. I don’t know what kind it was but from the smell of it probably good sized. Too dang many copperheads and rattlesnakes and some of them in the city cause of all the little residential ponds and drainage creeks. Yikes. i picked a plastic sheet I kept around the corner of my house for snow and ice days one spring and found a small rattlesnake. Got away before we could get a hoe to get it, it was a young baby and figured there were others where that one came from.

@Stereoguy Yes they have a dead rat smell to them, it’s their musk scent they throw off when they get scared. I caught one in a sticky trap in my laundry room and one evening bent down in my kitchen (next to my laundry room) and thought I smelled a dead mouse smell. I stood up and couldn’t smell it, it was not all that strong. Bent down again and smelled it. Looked around and saw nothing. The next night I found it in the sticky trap dead and it was a very small grass snake. But the two outside I smelled must have been really big. One minute you don’t smell anything and then you smell it suddenly, that’s not a dead rat…it’s a snake that’s scared throwing their musk. I was down on my hands & knees pulling grass in a narrow area between the figs & the fence and smelled it. Figured a snake was hiding under the figs, the leaves were down to the ground so I couldn’t see. I backed up and thought it would be a really good time to go inside & have lunch.
