I have no shame in apologizing but the guilt stays for long

Honey, I just wrote an article on this, if you'd like to see it. In my profile.
SW-User
Thanks.
Starz93 · F
I can't .. I'll feel guilty and bad until I apologise and I know sorry means nothing sometimes but I'd try my best to make it up to them ..
SW-User
I don't think I'd stop feeling bad about it. The intensity of the guilt may decrease over time, but it'll never really go away.
SW-User
Same for me.
SW-User
It depends . None of us are perfect ...but if I unintentionally hurt someone I truly care for I'm hard on myself and I try to do better the next time ...that's all anyone can do
tacomasr5 · 51-55, M
ask the to forgive you, and commitment to not to do it again. also forgive yourself. move forward.
GreenEyedFox03 · 31-35, F
Depends on the situation and to what extent I did them wrong..
tacomasr5 · 51-55, M
exactly... that
tacomasr5 · 51-55, M
To ya all... we all make mistakes. we learn by them. this life is a journey and we are all trying to be better. there is hope people that care and will be there for you.
SW-User
Knowingly I don't do but if I realise that I have done something to somebody I would do something to help their situation.
SW-User
Good.

There is no reconciliation, it's getting harder to live every day.

@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: Things I could never reveal.
tacomasr5 · 51-55, M
There is! do you suffer with depression?
Kingfish · 31-35, M
@tacomasr5: A sort of general malaise I'd call it.
SW-User
I do my best to avoid doing wrong to people, but if I do, it's an honest mistake and that makes it easier to deal with.
SW-User
Yes intention does help.
I can't. I won't be able to move forward unless I do something about it. Even their forgiveness isn't enough.
SW-User
What if you could not do anything about it?
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: Just add it to the pile of things I regret. And try to move on. It's gonna haunt me for a long time depending on what I did wrong.
LachrymoseLamer · 51-55, M
I always apologise and take responsibility for what I might have done wrong.
And try to make things right if I can.
MenzernaSF4000 · 36-40, M
A) it will be a honest mistake. B ) They will deserve it. I ignore things at first, forget them (not forgive), talk it out, nothing works, strike n out.
SW-User
They will deserve what?
MenzernaSF4000 · 36-40, M
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: My wrath 😡
SW-User
Some people never care or admit to the wrong they do, you cannot change them.
SW-User
Yes. They feel entitled.
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: Listen. The best you can do is apologize and assure them it will never happen again, and you might ask how you could make amends, but after that, if they refuse any of that, that is not your responsibility. Some want you to feel miserable forever. That's not warranted. If you've done all you can and they still won't accept it, time to move on. You've done what was necessary, and then some. You're not required to become a martyr for one mistake. It's not like you did it on purpose. Cut yourself a break. You said this person feels entitled. Sounds a little selfish to me. Carry on.
Equanimous · 51-55, M
Ensure not to repeat it and make amends if possible.
Quite good actually
popmol · 26-30, M

AnukBinary · M

YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
