Looking at your post and the comments. It reinforces for me that we are all different and can see the same situation in different ways.
We all have bumps in the road. It’s how we ride those bumps though that determines our view of the journey. It can leave you happy, miserable or various stages in between. But it is our choice.

I’m at a point where I am, by and large living this. Whilst being well short of perfect. This philosophy has made my life much easier.
I don’t know what the key is. I just do it.

People say you always have the key to escape this prison and create a different reality, but I have yet to find this elusive key.
The key is within the reality of others, which means you need to enter into others reality and you will find the key, as you have their key.
That's the creators knack of placing the key of each with other' or else there is no purpose or need for another.
